DESIGN OF THE FUTURE
Green Energy Power Supply:
American Evergreen photovoltaic solar panels were used for the facility. They
provide 12.3 kilowatts providing 13.1% of the buildings electricity. This in turn saves 24,000 pounds of CO2 from going into the atmosphere per year.

Instead of using 1 large HVAC system to cool the facility, 5 separate smaller systems were used. Each system controls a separate area of the building and systems can be turned off in the areas that are not being used at the time. All systems are SEER 14-17 and use an ozone friendly chemical Puron R-410a.
Sunshades were designed for the windows to keep the sun from shining in and heating up the building with virtually no obstruction to the view.
Low Disruptive Lighting:
Lamp shades were used in order to reduce light pollution during the night, which if left unchecked can disrupt the local ecosystem for plants and animals and prevent people from viewing the stars.
Human Travel Accommodation Facilities:
Showers are provided for bicyclist/runners. Space is also provided to change into clean clothing. This is to promote alternative more energy efficient forms of travel.
